DairyLine - About Us

Lee Mielke was born and raised in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and is a graduate of Brown Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He began his broadcast career in 1971 in Berlin, Wisconsin, and later moved to Lynden, Washington.

Lee created DairyLine Radio in September of 1988. It aired on 5 radio stations in 3 states. Today DairyLine is carried on over 80 stations covering 25 states.

While he was not raised on a farm and, as he says, “barely knew the difference between a bull and a heifer,” he soon came to appreciate farm radio in Berlin. Lee’s last name really is Mielke. He often comments that he is the “Mielke” and his listeners are the “Milkers.”

The DairyLine newspaper column is featured in 10 agricultural newspapers covering California, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
