Discounted
Registrations for PA Dairy
Summit
Bellefonte,
PA – Emphasizing
the
importance of
the
2011 Pennsylvania Dairy Summit to
the
dairy industry and to
the
economy of
the
Commonwealth, a state supported program is helping to ensure that dairy
producers can afford to attend. Dairy
producers and any of
the
ir employees can register for this year’s PA Dairy Summit at a 50%
discount. This $100 saving is made possible by a grant from
the
Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry through
the
Lancaster County Workforce Investment
Board
(WIB).
With
attendance usually numbering more than 500 people, in 2011 a large group
of producers with farms of all sizes have already taken advantage of
this greatly reduced fee to register. The Summit is being held February
2 and 3 at
the
Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster, Pa. Planned by producers to be
the
“right program at
the
right time”,
the
Summit
is designed to give dairy farmers practical information with long-term
implications for
the
industry. .
The
producer owner/manager or any dairy employee can qualify for
the
discount by simply providing a social security number to fulfill
the
grant requirements. Information on

An
eye-opening presentation on “Dairy and Sustainability” will start
the
Summit
in high gear and
the
follow-up on “The Farm Bill, Dairy Policy and You” will give a view
of what can be expected in
the
future. The final session on “Money Makers for Your Dairy Business”
offers new ideas for profitability, one of
the
issues that is highest on most producer’s minds.

The
Summit
program also has more personal breakout sessions where practical issues
will be
the
focus. Topics include “Reaping
the
Most from Your Reproduction Strategy,” Cow Comfort and Animal
Patterns,” “A Producer’s Perspective on Managing Your Risks,”
and “Direct Marketing.”
A
Wednesday evening session returns to
the
program after its successful introduction last year. The topic
will be Animal Activism and
the
panel was chosen to represent many viewpoints.
Thursday’s
closing luncheon speaker will provide a message of inspiration and hope
about “Changing Your View of Success.” Jenné Fromm is a nationally
recognized writer, speaker and motivator whose personal story and
insight triggers sensible ideas for meaningful change.

formal education program, dairy producers will have
the
opportunity to learn from more than 60 industry suppliers in
the
exhibit area. The list of
