Product Handout Touts Dairy’s Benefits
SACRAMENTO – April 14, 2010 – Continuing the dialogue about the health benefits of milk and milk products is important for the future of the dairy industry.
To help members of the dairy industry share information on dairy’s role in a healthy diet, and the dairy industry’s contribution to its communities and sustainability, Dairy Council of California developed a handout available for free to dairy producers and processors to distribute to consumers when opportunities arise.
“We are often asked by members of the dairy industry how they can help and what they should say about the health benefits of dairy,” said Peggy Biltz, Dairy Council of California CEO. “We developed this handout for the industry to use as a communication tool and distribute to consumers or other audiences.”
Biltz adds that whether at farm or plant tours or community events, this handout serves as a valuable tool to spread the word about the nutritional value of milk and milk products.
“Who better to share this information than the dairy industry,” she said. “Clearly the industry has a love for the products as well as a comprehensive knowledge about its benefits.”
The handout, titled “Milk Products Provide Bang for your Buck,” includes expert endorsements of dairy products as well as general information about California’s dairy industry and its sustainability efforts.
