Executive-Level Skills at 2011 Managers Academy
Dairy Industry Executive Training – Dec. 14, 2010 – Positive momentum. Negative momentum. As a person in the dairy industry, you can choose to have positive or negative momentum. Plus, you determine whether you manage momentum or it manages you.
If you’re into positive momentum, then the 2011 Managers Academy, Jan. 18-20, in Albuquerque, N.M., will give you the tools and the spark to make positive momentum happen—and continue to happen.
“The 2011 Managers Academy isn’t a conference—it’s executive training tailored specifically for dairy producers, managers, industry directors, processors, marketers and distributors,” states Eric Hillan, PDPW president and a dairy producer from Ladysmith, “The 2011 training is all about gaining knowledge and skills so you can maximize positive momentum and make a difference in the industry and to those around you.
“The event is also networking at its best. And, along the way, you’ll have fun and make valuable industry contacts.”
Executive education at the 2011 Managers Academy will be led by four nationally known business coaches who have impressive track records for working with executives of major national and international companies:
· Dr. Buck Joseph is a national recognized researcher, writer and engaging, thought-provoking presenter who has conducted extensive training and development programs for such clients as Abbott Laboratories, 3M Corporation, General Electric Health Care and American Family Insurance. An energetic enthusiastic communicator, Dr. Joseph will have us on the edge of our seats as he helps us expand and enhance our abilities to communicate, lead and manage in our professional and personal lives.
· Dr. Chris Hinrichs, who will team lead with Dr. Joseph, is a former course designer and director of adult and corporate enrichment programs for the Midwest and East Coast Outward Bound Schools and has worked with clients such as Harley-Davidson, Coors Brewing Co., Good Year Tire & Rubber Co, Honeywell and General Electric. Dr. Hinrichs’ engaging, rich-with-content-and-humor presentations will quickly have us entrenched in his sessions.
· Dr. David Kohl is president of AgriVisions LLC, a knowledge-based consulting business, and part owner of Homestead Creamery, a value-added dairy business in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Dr. Kohl has traveled more than 7 million miles throughout his professional career, conducting more than 5,000 workshops and seminars for agricultural groups. He has a unique way of untangling the complicated and making information, concepts and ideas applicable to our everyday business lives.
· Dr. Lowell Catlett has received every teaching award at New Mexico State, including the University’s top honor. He is a consultant to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Interior, Defense and Labor as well as many Fortune 500 companies. His upbeat presentations will be filled with numerous nuggets of wisdom and “aha” moments.
While Days 1 and 3 will have individuals in the classroom challenging their mindset and engaging in highly interactive sessions, Day 2 will have participants in “tour mode,” with four executive-level tours sharing information about unique business model concepts. On-site tours include Haw Farms and El Pinto Restaurant/Foods. Virtual Tours include Los Poblanos Organic Farms and Southwest Cheese Factory.
“You might just be surprised what you’re going to learn during these tours,” Hillan adds. “To enhance your experience, Dr. David Kohl will facilitate a dialogue during and after each tour. And no question is off limits to the company executive leading the tours or to Dr. Kohl. It’s all about you and what you can take home from each tour. “
